State-owned Energocom will ask ANRE to reduce the electricity tariff for consumers by 10%.

Energocom director Victor Binzari announced this, noting that the relevant request will be submitted to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) by the end of January. He specified that if ANRE approves it, the electricity tariff for consumers may decrease by about 10%. The head of Energocom reminded that the company is a central supplier that buys electricity on the market, and there is a clear methodology that says that if its profit is higher than 5-6%, it is necessary to reduce the tariff so that there are no positive deviations. "At this stage, we will ask for a 10 percent reduction in electricity tariffs," said Viktor Bynzar. As previously reported, electricity tariffs were last adjusted by ANRE in November 2023, when the tariffs for Premier Energy and FEE Nord household consumers were reduced by 7% and 10% - to 2.39 and 2.88 lei per kWh, respectively. They took effect on November 14, following the publication of ANRE's decisions in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova). Earlier, Energocom signed a long-term electricity supply contract with Moldavskaya GRES, which will be valid until the end of 2024, and the electricity price will remain at the same level of $66 per MW, which gives confidence in the supply of electricity at stable prices. In addition, electricity will be purchased from local CHPPs and renewable energy producers, electricity producers on the European market and, if necessary to cover electricity shortages, on the Romanian OPCOM exchange. //25.01.01.2024 - InfoMarket.
