Moldova: Tenders for the construction of large renewable energy capacities will be held in April-July.
The Energy Ministry announced this, publishing the calendar of their holding. The launch of tenders for the construction of large renewable energy capacities is scheduled for April 9, while the bids will be received during 3 months. The Ministry stressed that the launch of the first tenders for the construction of large fixed-price power generation plants in Moldova will allow building large wind and photovoltaic power plants, reducing the dependence on energy imports, decarbonizing the economy and creating new jobs. They will also contribute to Moldova's commitment to achieve a renewable energy share of 27% of final energy consumption by 2030. A total capacity of 165 MW has been allocated for large-scale renewable capacity, divided by technology: 105 MW for wind installations and 60 MW for photovoltaic. A number of documents have to be approved in order to launch tenders for the construction of large renewable energy capacity. According to the tender launch calendar, in February it is planned to amend the regulations on tenders for granting the status of a large producer, appoint a tender commission by government decree, publish tender documents and in February-March hold consultations with stakeholders. The Energy Ministry recalled that the state has three mechanisms to support producers of “green” energy, which guarantee the purchase of surplus energy supplied to the network, and thus help them recoup their investments: “net metering”, introduced on January 1, 2024, which applies to small producers with installations intended for their own consumption; fixed tariff for 15 years - for parks and installations with a capacity of up to 1 MW of photovoltaic or 4 MW of wind; fixed price, also valid for 15 years, for parks and installations with a capacity of over 1 MW of photovoltaic or 4 MW of wind, their capacity is distributed on a competitive basis. // 23.01.2024 – InfoMarket
