
The volume of external financing of Moldova's budget in 2023 will decrease by 3 billion 583.5 million lei (-16.4%) compared to the previously planned figure and will amount to 18 billion 245.9 million lei instead of 21 billion 829.4 million lei.
According to the Finance Ministry, the amendments to the law on the state budget for 2023, adopted earlier by the parliament and published in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova), stipulate this. At the same time, the volume of external credits for budget support will decrease by 813.9 million lei (-6.5 per cent), from 12 billion 548 million lei to 11 billion 734.1 million lei. At the same time, the volume of credits for the implementation of projects financed from external sources will decrease by 2 billion 769.6 million lei (-29.8%), from 9 billion 281.4 million lei to 6 billion 511.8 million lei. The Finance Ministry said that the decrease in the volume of loans for budgetary support resulted from their revaluation at the updated exchange rate.
