Companies in Moldova's tourism sector to receive grant support of up to 0.5 million lei.

This is stipulated by the three-year Program of support for the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the tourism sector, which was launched on Friday in Moldova's first agri-pension Casa din Lunca (Trebujeni village, Orhei district). The new instrument of entrepreneurship support, supported by the state budget and EU funds, is intended for SMEs that carry out business activities in tourism or related sectors, with the potential to organize tourism activities in villages, communes and towns with a population of up to 30 thousand inhabitants. Access to financing will be provided through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), and at least 50 companies are expected to receive support. ODA director Dumitru Pintia specified that potential beneficiaries can receive a grant of up to 0.5 million lei, while their own contribution should be at least 30% of the investment project's value. "The program will contribute to the development of tourism and entrepreneurial activities, creation of new enterprises, increase of revenues in the tourism sector and related industries, including the promotion of exports of domestic tourism products and services," Pintia stressed, noting also that other support programs managed by the ODA are also available to tourism enterprises. In general, the program provides three components of support: information and promotion, grant financial support, and monitoring and evaluation. The total budget of the program is about 30 million lei and its implementation period is 3 years, with the possibility of expansion with funds from local and foreign donors. Grant applications are accepted online by filling out a form at https:// formular.oda.md/#/. It is worth mentioning that this program is financed within the grant agreement for 8 million euros, which was previously signed by the EU, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization and ODA. // 22.09.2023 - InfoMarket.
