
Germany will provide Moldova with a grant of almost 39 million euros for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
It also supports various projects in Moldova in the field of agriculture, green energy, defense, the digital sector and others. This was discussed during the meeting that the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, held on June 12 with the German Ambassador to our country, Margret Uebber, discussing with her the priorities of the bilateral agenda and the main directions of future cooperation. The Head of State thanked the Ambassador for her country's support for Moldova's European path and for the presence of Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the June 1 European Political Community summit. The President stressed that Germany is one of the strategic partners of Moldova, which supports the efforts of its authorities to transform the country through various projects in such areas as agriculture, green energy, defense and public order, as well as the digital sector. At the end of May, the German government announced a grant of almost 39 million euros to finance renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. Also at the end of last year, the Border Police received a donation of 30 cars worth about 2 million euros. In addition, for the technical modernization of the National Army, the federal government donated 19 armored personnel carriers. Through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), many projects have been implemented over the past decade to develop our villages and cities. For example, in the village of Rosu, Cahul district, a sewerage system was built, in the city of Leova and nearby villages: Iargara, Filipeni, Romanovca and Cupcui, water supply and sewerage were improved. In the same way, were supported energy efficiency projects in schools, among the beneficiaries were the Theoretical Secondary School named after Matei Basarab from the city of Basarabeasca and Theoretical Secondary School named after Constantin Spataru from the city of Leova.// 12.06.2023 — InfoMarket
