Government to allocate 23.05 million lei from the Reserve Fund to complete the modernization of the infrastructure of the Sculeni customs post (Ungheni district).
This was ordered by the Commission for Emergencies at a meeting on May 24. The money will allow Moldova to complete the project on the rehabilitation and modernization of the customs checkpoints on the Moldovan-Romanian border (Leuseni, Sculeni and Giurgiulesti) in time and fulfill the undertaken commitments. The 36-month project was launched in June 2019, but later, due to the pandemic, it was extended until the end of 2023. The total project budget is 10 million euros, of which 6.4 million euros is provided in an EU grant. The contribution of the Moldovan side is 5 million euros, of which 1.78 million euros is the contribution of the government. The modernization of the customs post in Sculeni includes reconstruction of the administrative building, construction of new pavilions and sheds, increasing the number of customs control lanes from 8 to 14, rebuilding the access roads, installation of scanners and other modern control systems. // 24.05.2023 - InfoMarket.
