He noted that the first adjustment of the Law on the state budget for 2023 will be launched today by submitting the relevant bill for public consultations, the second is scheduled to be held in late July-early August. The head of the Cabinet explained that adjustments are needed, since last year was a year of various crises, and this year it is necessary not only to continue managing these crises, but also to provide for the allocation of large funds to support the economy, develop infrastructure and increase the income of the population, and for this it is necessary to increase and revenues of administrations at all levels. According to Dorin Recean, the adjustment of the state budget will bring more funds for the development of infrastructure and local development. In particular, the government proposes to allocate an additional 700 million lei to the National Development Fund for the development of road infrastructure, because this sector was previously ignored given the need to manage other crises in 2022. The Prime Minister noted that it is planned to increase the National Fund for Regional and local development. By 140 million lei, it is planned to increase allocations to support small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular, within the framework of the State Entrepreneurship Support Program “373”. It is planned to provide agrarians with an additional 100 million lei to compensate for their increased expenses in the period after the start of the war in Ukraine, in particular, these funds will be used to subsidize excise taxes on diesel fuel. As Dorin Rechan noted, all this should allow improving the development of the economy and infrastructure at the regional and local levels, giving an impetus to the economy as a whole. The head of government also stressed that the current adjustment of the state budget for 2023 will also provide for an increase in salaries in the public sector, in the central government. He explained that at the current stage it is necessary to prepare the country, prepare institutions for the transition to the next stage of relations with the EU, and for this it is important to have competent personnel who receive decent salaries, and their work will attract more funds to the budget, to the economy, so that the next salary increase was in August already in other categories of citizens. Dorin Recean called the situation abnormal when some ministers are paid less than wages at a construction site, and heads of departments are paid less than waiters. The head of the Cabinet said that the money allocated now to increase the salaries of officials will not exceed the amount of funds for the construction of 6 km of roads. According to him, now it is important to increase the potential of civil servants who will help attract new resources to the country, which can then be used to build 100 and 1000 km of roads. At the same time, Dorin Recean warned that after the increase in salaries, the responsibility of officials will increase even more. // 24.05.2023 — InfoMarket.
