
The Government of Moldova discussed the State Program for Supporting Entrepreneurs "373" with businessmen and representatives of banks.
In particular, Prime Minister Dorin Recean discussed the key aspects of the new State Entrepreneurship Support Program “373”, as well as proposals for its improvement, with representatives of entrepreneurial associations, members of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister, as well as with representatives of commercial banks of the country. The meetings were held as part of public consultations, which will end on May 24. According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, Dorin Recean emphasized the importance of ensuring entrepreneurs' access to resources and state support, noting that the "373" program, which will be available from June 1, is designed to strengthen cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises, banks and other interested parties and, as a result, ensure the economic growth of our country. “Economic development is the immediate priority of the executive branch. We strive to stimulate investment, increase labor productivity and the number of high-paying jobs. The "373" program is the financial instrument that will help us achieve our goals and thereby improve the living standards of Moldovan citizens,” the Prime Minister said. At the meeting with businessmen, the concept of the program and its main elements were presented. Thus, the interest rate on loans in foreign currency will be 3%, and in lei - 7%. For loans with a maturity of up to 7 years, the maximum grace period will be 3 years. The program provides for subsidizing loans up to 15 million lei or the equivalent in foreign currency, and in the future, the government proposes to increase the credit limit to 30 million lei, as well as offer a loan guarantee for companies that lack collateral. Within the framework of this state program, the following areas will be financed: agriculture, production, waste management, information and communication, education, healthcare and social assistance. Each investment project will be evaluated according to the degree of innovation, economic potential, sustainability and environmental impact. A loan is considered eligible if it meets at least 60% of the program's criteria. Entrepreneurs emphasized that they encourage in their activities the policies and programs launched by the government, noting that the "373" Program is an initiative that specifically meets the needs of business. In order to continue an active dialogue with the authorities, the participants proposed to restart the consultation platform for small and medium-sized businesses. At the same time, the need to develop the infrastructure of consultants for entrepreneurs was discussed, as well as the possibility of including the construction sector in the program. At a meeting with representatives of the banks of our country, the head of government noted that our entrepreneurs: farmers, workers in the food industry, communications, information technology and tourism need funding in order to be able to develop. “The competitiveness and productivity of our economy depend on increasing the productivity and efficiency of the technologies used, including for access to financial and banking tools that can generate new directions for economic development, for the prosperity of the business environment,” said Dorin Recean.// 17.05.2023 — InfoMarket
