Since January 1, 2023, the updated Combined Commodity Nomenclature has been applied in Moldova.

The updated commodity nomenclature has been updated and linked to the 7th edition of the Harmonized Description and Coding System of the World Customs Organization. Changes to the harmonized system include, for example, new sub-chapters adapted to new product categories, technological developments and social and environmental aspects. The document includes, among other things, new product codes, for example, 2404 - products containing tobacco or reconstituted tobacco, nicotine or tobacco or nicotine substitutes intended for inhalation without burning, other products containing nicotine intended for the absorption of nicotine by the human body, 3827 - mixtures containing halogenated derivatives of methane, ethane or propane, 8545 electrical and electronic waste and scrap, 8806 unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). The Customs Service of Moldova calls on economic agents to comply with the updated legal framework related to the classification of goods during their customs clearance. At the same time, interested parties can apply to the customs department to obtain a preliminary tariff decision regarding the classification of goods. This fits the import operation and creates predictable conditions for economic agents. Recall that the Combined Commodity Nomenclature is used for the purpose of uniform coding of goods imported into the territory and / or exported from the territory of Moldova, as well as placed under certain customs regimes and destinations; to apply customs duties and obtain statistical data on the country's foreign trade activities.// 09.01.2023 — InfoMarket.
