Moldova has agreed on investments of about 600 million euros from EBRD, EIB, and WB group for 2023 for further modernization of national roads.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development reported this, noting that the roads will be upgraded with funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank and the World Bank Group under the "Roads of Moldova III" and "Roads of Moldova IV" projects, as well as the local roads improvement program. The ministry emphasizes that a financing contract worth 150 million euros was signed with the European Investment Bank to implement the "Roads of Moldova IV" project; amendment agreement No. 3 to the loan agreement between Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the construction and rehabilitation of roads in Moldova (of June 28, 2013), which provides for an increase by 100 million euros of the initially allocated amount; a financing contract between Moldova and the European Investment Bank for the construction and rehabilitation of roads in Moldova. At the beginning of 2023, a loan agreement between Moldova and the EBRD to implement the "Roads of Moldova IV" project worth 150 million euros is to be signed; a financing agreement to continue the local roads improvement project worth 100 million euros. The funds will be used to modernize the following road sections: M5 - border with Ukraine - Criva - Balti - Chisinau - Tiraspol - border with Ukraine, 133 km section Criva - Balti (rehabilitation); M2, ringroad in Chisinau, on sections 2 and 3, km 17.35 (extension to 4 lanes); M3 Chisinau - Comrat - Giurgiulesti - border with Romania, by-passing Cimislia, km 0.0 - km 7.2 (new construction); R34 Hincesti-Leova - Cahul - Giurgiulesti, Section III, Cantemir - Cahul, km 82.0 - km 125.0 (reconstruction); R14, R6 - Codrul Nou - Soroca - Unguri - border with Ukraine, section Soroca - Arionesti, km 92.6 - km 123.6 (reconstruction); R8. 1, R8 - Arionesti - R14, Arionesti - Otaci section, km 0.0 - km 9.4 (reconstruction); M3 Chisinau - Comrat - Giurgiulesti - border with Romania, Vulcanesti bypass section, km 0.0 - km 8.5 (new construction); R33 Hincesti - Lapusna - M1, km 0.0 - km 37.2; plus 4 corridors. //27.12.2022 - InfoMarket.
