Romania provides now more than 90% of Moldova's electricity needs and grants other important assistance, Bogdan Aurescu said.

Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs said this in an interview with a Romanian TV channel. "Romania is doing very much to help Moldova in the difficult situation as it is 100% dependent on foreign resources, both for gas and for electric energy. As for electric power, already now, Romania supplies, I think, over 90% of Moldova's consumption needs. From this point of view, Romania's reaction was extremely quick, from the moment Ukraine could no longer export electric power to Moldova after the explosions. The volumes of electricity that Moldova used to buy from Ukraine are now provided by Romania," the Romanian Foreign Minister said. "At the moment we can support Moldova with electricity. We have also helped it by supplying fuel oil and firewood. The government has approved the delivery of 130,000 cubic meters of firewood at the request of Moldova. We continue to urge the international community to provide grants to Moldova so that it can buy energy on the free market," Bogdan Aurescu said. // 07.11.2022 - InfoMarket
