He was appointed to this position on Friday by decree of President Maia Sandu who previously signed a decree revoking the Minister of Agriculture Viorel Gherciu from his post he has been holding since August 6, 2021. Vladimir Bolea took the constitutional oath before Moldovan President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita. Vladimir Bolea has so far been a member of parliament from the ruling PAS party and headed the parliamentary commission for agriculture and food processing. Maia Sandu congratulated Vladimir Bole on his assumption of office, noting that the mandate of the new minister is complex and important for the country. She thanked Vladimir Bolea for agreeing to assume this important portfolio for our country and noted that one of his tasks is to create conditions for a sustainable and competitive agricultural sector. "It is not easy, especially given today's challenges, but I am sure that together with your team you will succeed," Maia Sandu said. For her part, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita welcomed Vladimir Bolea to the government and expressed confidence that the transition to this ministry would be natural and favorable for the development of the agro-industrial sector. She praised Vladimir Bolea’s contribution to key decisions for the development of agriculture. "Most of the decisions were made over the past 11 months in the form of legislative initiatives initiated by the parliamentary committee and personally by you. Therefore, I am fully confident that this transition will be natural, easy and favorable for the development of the agricultural sector and food industry," said Natalia Gavrilita. Since 2019 Vladimir Bolya is a member of parliament, served as vice-chairman and since 2021 as chairman of the parliamentary commission on agriculture and food industry.
