This was stated by the Minister of Economy at the Moldovan-Romanian business forum, which took place on Tuesday in Chisinau. The head of the Ministry of Economy noted the dynamic and parity trade relations between the two countries, stressing that all trading partners strive for such relations. At the same time, according to the minister, more than 1.5 thousand enterprises with Romanian investments in the authorized capital are registered in Moldova, the total volume of which reaches 6 billion lei. He spoke in favor of intensifying and deepening cooperation in various fields, increasing mutual trade and increasing Romanian investments in Moldova. He expressed support to the Romanian side for support in the field of infrastructure, implementation of social and cultural projects. The head of the Ministry of Economy noted the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the capital market, transport, in the creation of international logistics hubs, including to promote foreign trade and support companies from Ukraine that have encountered difficulties in this area. The head of the Investment Agency, Stelian Manic, speaking at the forum, noted that Moldova is going through a period of modernization and reforms, and the creation of a favorable business climate remains a priority for the country. According to him, the participation of Romanian investors in the Moldovan economy indicates that this is a reliable market, which, in terms of the prospects for Moldova's accession to the EU, inspires confidence. During the event, the president of the CCI of Moldova, Sergiu Harea, also spoke, and outlined a number of specific goals that will contribute to the use and expansion of the potential for cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries. For example, according to him, it is necessary to organize as soon as possible a meeting of the Moldovan-Romanian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which last met 4 years ago. The economic forum "Romania-Moldova" was organized by the Embassy of Romania in our country together with the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism of Romania and the Association of Romanian Investors in Moldova. The purpose of the event is to stimulate the development of bilateral trade, tourism and the investment sector by intensifying the dialogue between businessmen of the two countries. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, at the end of 2021, Romania accounted for 26.5% of Moldovan exports (more than $833 million, which is 17.9% more than a year earlier) and 11.6% of imports into the country ($832 million or 31.3% more than in 2020).
