Annual inflation in Moldova will be 14.5% this year and maybe even higher, the most probable - Veaceslav Ionita.
This is the forecast made by the economic expert on the IDIS Viitorul website. He notes that if this happens, we will have the highest inflation in the past 18 years, caused by the increase in all energy prices and rising food prices. In the case of food, the expert notes, prices are likely to rise by at least 17.5%, or maybe more, and this is again the record of the past 18 years. In general, Veaceslav Ionita calls 2021 a year of rising prices, and this is due to both internal factors and global inflation. The expert notes that in the USA, for example, this year the price increase is the biggest in the last 40 years. Significant growth has occurred in the UK, the EU and around the world. Among developed countries, only Japan has not suffered from rising prices. The biggest drama of price increase, according to the expert, took place in Moldova in October when the price for natural gas increased to $790 per thousand cubic meters, compared to $127 at the beginning of the year. This led to an increase of tariffs for consumers by more than 2.4 times, which is an unprecedented increase in the history of the country. The expert also notes that 2021 is likely to end with a price of $525 per thousand cubic meters of natural gas, compared to $115 per thousand cubic meters at the end of the last year. According to Veaceslav Ionita, the price of gas will remain high in 2022 and could decrease significantly by the end of the year. Also, the expert drew attention to a big increase in prices on the real estate market after a 13-year break. // 28.12.2021 - InfoMarket
