The Prime Minister announced this at the meeting by a World Bank team led by Energy Manager for Europe and Central Asia Sudeshna Banerjee. The purpose of the visit of the WB representatives is to discuss the energy program of the World Bank and future programs to improve the efficiency and modernization of the national energy system. The World Bank team presented the energy projects currently being implemented in Moldova. This is a project for the development of the energy system, which is aimed at increasing the capacity and reliability of the electricity transmission system in Moldova by building a 400 kV overhead transmission line in the direction of Vulcanesti-Chisinau. The parties also discussed the preparation of the second phase of the project to improve the efficiency of the district heating system (SACET II) in Chisinau, which aims to optimize the operational and financial aspects of JSC Termoelectrica, as well as improve the quality and safety of district heating services provided to residents of Chisinau. “Currently there are many problems in the energy sector, we will prioritize projects to modernize infrastructure and improve energy efficiency, as well as to connect to the European energy market,” said Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita.// 14.09.2021 — InfoMarket
