The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) put into circulation on August 26 a set of commemorative coins dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Moldova's independence.
The coins were introduced into circulation as a means of payment and for numismatic purposes and will complement the "Historical Events" series. The set includes 3 coins, symbolizing a 30-year historical excursion: past, present and future. Each coin reflects famous lines of poems that have become hits: “O libertate, sfântă libertate” (“Freedom, holy freedom”), “Inima mea e Moldova” (“My heart is Moldova”), “Cât trăim pe acest pământ” (“As long as we live on this earth "). As noted by the NBM, the first coin takes us back to 1991, to the generation that fought for the country's freedom. The second coin is dedicated to youth and reflects a longer path - democratic processes and socio-economic development of Moldova. The last coin is dedicated to children who delivered a message of hope "Everything will be fine!" The new commemorative coins put into circulation by the NBM are made of silver, each with a nominal value of 50 lei and a circulation of 500 units. Commemorative coins, packed in transparent methacrylate capsules and gift boxes, are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity containing 3 QR codes, which store information about the indicated coins.
