NAER obliged the operators of the market of oil products of Moldova to cancel unreasonably high prices for fuel in the period from 14 to 16 June
This was reported by the press service of the energy regulator, noting that on Wednesday, June 16, the Administrative Council of the National Agency for Energy Regulation at an extraordinary meeting approved a resolution on deviations in the formation of prices on the oil products market. It is emphasized that as a result of monitoring the correctness of the formation and changes in retail prices for petroleum products, it was established that the increase in prices for the sale of petroleum products by economic agents, carried out on June 14-16, goes beyond the legal framework. It is noted that with the entry into force on June 14, 2021 (00:00) of the amendments to Art. 4 of Law N461 / 2001 on the oil products market, license holders set prices based on the Methodology for the calculation and application of prices for oil products developed and approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, taking into account the General Rules for the Calculation and Application of Prices for Basic Petroleum Products specified in Appendix 2 of the Law. Thus, the selling prices of petroleum products set before June 13, 2021 (24:00) cannot be increased by sellers until the new Methodology approved by NAER comes into force, which is currently undergoing state registration with the Ministry of Justice, in accordance with Art. 17 of Law N174/2017 on energy. To counteract the phenomenon of illegal changes in retail prices for petroleum products in violation of the provisions of the legislation, NAER obliged all license holders who increased retail prices for basic petroleum products and liquefied gas, starting from 00:00 on 14.06.2021 to cancel them until 24:00 on 16.06.2021. Also, all license holders working in the oil products market were reminded again that the prices set prior to the entry into force of Law No. 54/2021 on amendments to the Law “On the Oil Products Market” No. 461/2001 (June 14, 2021, 00:00 ) cannot be increased. Otherwise NAER will initiate the license suspension procedure in accordance with Art. 16 p. (3) of the Law on the Oil Products Market N461 / 2001 in relation to license holders who fail to comply with the above-mentioned NAER requirements contained in its resolution.//16.06.2021 — InfoMarket.
