As noted in the message of the European Investment Bank, Alberto Carlei is a professional with more than 16 years of experience in the banking industry and the field of relationship management between corporate clients and financial institutions. With significant experience in private business, Alberto Carlei joined the EIB in 2013. His main responsibilities included evaluating, structuring and negotiating investment project financing and lending to financial institutions. The new head of the EIB in Moldova stressed that over the past 5 years, thanks to projects financed by the EIB in Moldova, heat production from renewable energy sources reached 37 GWh, 158 km of power lines and transport cables were modernized, 2.8 million passengers gained access to improved rail links and more than 14 thousand people were provided with jobs in small and medium-sized enterprises of the country. Alberto Carlei noted that in accordance with the joint priorities of the EU and Moldova, the EIB is ready to continue to fulfill its earlier obligations. At the same time, the bank will support projects aimed at implementing the EU Green Agreement, improving energy efficiency, financing strategic infrastructure projects and digitalization.
