In Moldova, the government, whose term of office has expired, will have the right to conclude international treaties with financial obligations.
This is provided for by the relevant amendments to the Law on Government, which the parliamentary commission on economy, budget and finance considered at a meeting on Wednesday and recommended them for adoption at a plenary meeting. The mentioned legislative initiative belongs to the deputies from the parliamentary group Pro Moldova. Earlier, its leader, Andrian Candu, noted that giving the retired interim government with limited powers the right to sign international agreements with financial commitments will allow agreements to be signed to receive financial assistance to combat the pandemic, vaccinate the population and overcome the economic crisis. In particular, the adoption of such a bill by parliament will allow the interim government to sign with Romania an additional protocol to the intergovernmental agreement on a grant for our country in the amount of 100 million euros, within which 40 million euros have already been allocated to Moldova, and our country may lose 60 million euros, if will not sign documents on the extension of the agreement expiring in April this year. Andrian Candu also noted that if amendments to the Law on the Government are adopted, the current interim cabinet will also be able to sign international agreements with financial obligations with other countries and international organizations, especially since these documents must be ratified by the parliament. // 17.03.2021 — InfoMarket.
