This topic was discussed, among other things, during a meeting held by Finance Minister Andrian Gavrilita with representatives of the National Inbound and Domestic Tourism Association (ANTRIM). According to the Ministry of Finance, the discussions focused on aspects that could support the development of the tourism sector by creating a stable and predictable tax base capable of stimulating investment and economic growth. During the meeting, participants analyzed a number of issues relevant to the industry, concerning taxes, procedures, competitiveness, and improving tax compliance. Andrian Gavrilita highlighted the Ministry of Finance’s initiative to introduce, starting next year, a new Tax Code based on principles such as simplicity, convenience, compliance, and competitiveness. He emphasized the goal of simplifying tax regimes to make them more understandable and easier to apply for entrepreneurs. In this context, other measures to support the business environment were also discussed, including a zero-rate mechanism for undistributed profits, plans to reduce the tax burden on wages, as well as issues related to the activities of freelancers and day laborers, the use of electronic payments, and the simplification of accounting and financial reporting procedures.
