April 30 - deadline for individuals to submit income tax declaration for last year

The State Tax Service (STS) reminded that citizens who are not engaged in entrepreneurial activity and who have an obligation to submit a tax return must fill in and submit a CET18 declaration by April 30. It is worth mentioning that the submission of the declaration is mandatory for citizens who have unpaid amounts of income tax, including as a result of capital gains; if the person used personal exemption and received a taxable income of more than 360 thousand lei during the year; if the person requests a refund of the overpaid amount of income tax; if he/she wants to participate in the mechanism of interest deduction (“2%”), or if he/she changes his/her residence in Moldova to another country. The income tax declaration (CET18) can be submitted electronically and on paper at one of the STS subdivisions, regardless of the place of residence, or online - through the service “Electronic Declaration”, which allows viewing, modifying and submitting to the STS the declaration https://www.servicii.fisc.md, using mobile and electronic signature. The taxpayer may request a pre-filled declaration at the STS office or visualize it in the electronic system if the declaration is submitted online. If the data in the pre-filled declaration is incomplete or inaccurate, it can be corrected and supplemented. One can also send the completed declaration signed with an electronic signature to the STS e-mail address - mail@sfs.md. Another option is to scan the completed paper declaration signed with a holographic signature and send it to the e-mail address cet@sfs.md. Citizens who have not fulfilled their obligations to submit an income tax return and have not paid income tax timely and in full will be obliged to pay it later, together with the accrued penalty for each day of delay. Income tax can be paid through the state electronic payment service Mpay or through the Personal Cabinet of the taxpayer on the website sfs.md.
