The amount of income tax exemptions for individuals is planned to be increased by 10% in 2025.
Corresponding amendments to the Tax Code are proposed as part of the draft fiscal policy for 2025, submitted by the Ministry of Finance for public consultations. In particular, it is proposed to increase the amount of personal exemption for individual taxpayers from 27 thousand to 29.7 thousand lei, the amount of increased exemption - from 315 thousand to 34.62 thousand lei, the amount of additional exemption - from 19.8 thousand to 21.78 thousand lei. The amount of exemption for dependents (children) may increase from 9 thousand to 9.9 thousand lei, and for dependents with disabilities - from 19.8 thousand to 21.78 thousand lei. According to the Finance Ministry's calculations, due to the increase in exemptions, the budget will receive about 180.5 million lei in 2025. It should be noted that in 2023 and 2024, the size of exemptions for individuals did not change. In 2022, they were raised by 7.1% compared to the previous year.
