
Almost 400 people who received remittances or had other income determined by indirect sources paid taxes worth 11 million lei in 2022.
The State Tax Service reported that last year 743 individuals were identified with a high risk of non-declaring income in significant amounts. Of these, 183 were monitored by the compliance program, and 560 received income in the form of money sent through postal orders. The State Tax Service sent letters to these persons and held discussions about the need to declare income. As a result, 395 people fulfilled their tax obligations by declaring income in the amount of 98.5 million lei. They paid income tax in the amount of 10.7 million lei, as well as a penalty in the amount of 0.9 million lei. In particular, income from postal transfers amounted to 71.6 million lei (income tax - 7.3 million lei, penalty - 0.13 million lei), and within the framework of tax compliance - 26.9 million lei (with payment of income tax in the amount of 3.6 million lei and penalties - 0.79 million lei). For comparison, last year the monitoring program indirectly covered 170 individuals, of which 9 voluntarily paid taxes, paying income tax for 0.58 million lei and fines for 0.1 million lei, declaring an income of 4.6 million lei.// 24.02.2023 — InfoMarket
