In Moldova, the deadline for obtaining the right to refund VAT amounts from the budget to agricultural producers affected by natural disasters has been extended.
This was reported by the State Tax Service, noting that after amendments to the current legislation, the validity of the VAT refund program for agricultural producers affected by natural disasters was extended, starting from the month of the cancellation of the state of emergency declared by a parliamentary decree of March 17, 2020, and until September 2021 inclusive. As noted in the State Tax Service, during the VAT refund period from January to September 2021, agricultural producers affected by natural disasters can receive VAT back if they paid income tax, compulsory state social insurance contributions payable by the employer, compulsory health insurance contributions payable by employees, for the financial period and / or financial periods corresponding to this period. Farmers affected by natural disasters, in order to request a VAT refund for the period from January to September 2021, must submit an application of the appropriate form to the General Directorate of Tax Administration of Post-Operational Tax Control or the General Directorate of Administration of Large Taxpayers, as the case may be. The application can also be sent by e-mail with an electronic signature attached. The revised legal framework enables affected farmers to receive VAT refunds up to the maximum reimbursable threshold, which includes taxes, duties and contributions assessed and paid in connection with the payment of wages and land tax on agricultural land. The State Tax Service urges taxpayers to take advantage of the statutory opportunity and request a VAT refund. // 09.03.2021 — InfoMarket.
