114 wineries, meet-and-greets with winemakers and wine tastings, classes at the Wine School, guided tours led by sommeliers, trips to wineries across the country, cultural activities, and an official attempt to set a Guinness World Records record. On the first weekend of October—October 3 and 4—the Great National Assembly Square will host the 25th edition of National Wine Day. Here's what you need to know about this celebration dedicated to Moldovan wine.

1. 114 wineries, all in one place

This year's edition brings 114 wineries to the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN), united under the national wine brand "Wine of Moldova. Amazingly Good"—the largest number of wineries ever gathered in one place. Visitors can thus create their own itinerary to discover Moldovan wine and interact directly with winemakers and industry professionals, who will be present at the booths throughout the two-day event

2. Sommelier-led tours through the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN)

For those attending National Wine Day for the first time and wanting to better understand what's in their glass, sommelier-led tours will be available. Participants will be guided to selected booths, where they will discover the unique characteristics of local grape varieties as well as the proper etiquette for wine tasting.

3. The Taster's Booklet includes 10 tastings

Those who wish to taste the wines on display over the two days of the event must purchase the Taster's Booklet. With this booklet, visitors receive a reusable Tritan glass and tickets for 10 tastings, valid throughout the two days. The Taster's Booklet aims to promote wine culture and encourage responsible consumption of quality wine.

4. Wine School begins at 11:00 a.m.

National Wine Day promotes wine culture and contributes to wine education. The Wine School will also be in session on both days, featuring sessions on proper tasting techniques, sparkling wines, indigenous and locally selected grape varieties, the origins of wines, and products with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status.

5. The official opening of the 25th edition of National Wine Day takes place on October 3 at 12:00 p.m.

The official opening ceremony of National Wine Day is scheduled for October 3 at 12:00 p.m. on the main stage at PMAN.

6. A human formation depicting a grapevine will mark the official attempt to set a Guinness World Record

Also on the first day, one of the special highlights of this anniversary edition will take place: the official attempt to set a Guinness World Record by forming a human depiction of a grapevine. This event is dedicated to the central symbol of the wine sector and the connection between the land, people, and the tradition of wine.

7. National Wine Day – a time to recognize the people of the sector

National Wine Day is, traditionally, also the time when the achievements and contributions of people in the wine industry are recognized. During this anniversary edition, awards will be presented for achievements in the sector and for contributions to the development and promotion of Moldovan wine.

8. From PMAN, visitors can continue celebrating National Wine Day at wineries across the country

The National Wine Day program is not limited to events in central Chișinău. Visitors can also choose to take tours to wineries across the country, and several wineries are organizing their own events and experiences over the weekend of October 3–4. Thus, attending the event at PMAN can be combined with a visit to a winery, where guests will discover the wine-making process, the cellars, local cuisine, and hospitality.

9. Moldovan Wine and Vines—Also Featured in the Country's Artistic Heritage

The anniversary edition of National Wine Day will also be celebrated at five of the country's most important museums and heritage sites, where visitors can discover works by national artists. For example, the National Art Museum of Moldova will showcase works by local painters inspired by the grapevine, the grape harvest, and the connection between people, the land, and tradition. Among these is the painting "The Grapevine," created by Aurel David in 1957 and part of the museum's collection.

10. On the program: Satoshi, Cuibul, Zdob și Zdub

The artistic program will continue over the course of the two days. On October 3, Maria Iliuț and the "Crenguță de iederă" Ethno-Folkloric Ensemble, the "Enigma Romilor" Song and Dance Ensemble, Lidia Isac & Band, Satoshi, and DJ Fox will take the stage. On October 4, the lineup features Cuibul and Zdob și Zdub. Thus, the two-day program will combine wine tastings and educational activities with performances and concerts held in the capital's city center.

The 25th edition of National Wine Day 2026 will take place on October 3–4 in the Great National Assembly Square, under the slogan "The Wine That Unites Us."
