Moldovan TV channels will be required to devote half of their airtime to programs in Romanian

The Moldovan Parliament approved, in the first reading, amendments to the Audiovisual Media Services Code that significantly alter the requirements for the language composition of broadcasts and the composition of television programming packages. The document also addresses quotas for independent and local content, the regulation of regional broadcasting, and new obligations for media service providers, including issues of accessibility and sanctions monitoring.
