This is provided for by the relevant amendments to the Regulations on the Provision and Payment for Public and Non-Public Utilities, on which the Ministry of Energy conducted public consultations. The event was chaired by Vitalie Mîța, State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, and brought together representatives of government agencies, service providers, and other stakeholders. During the discussion, a draft containing 27 amendments was presented. These changes are aimed at improving the mechanisms for calculating charges based on meter readings, ensuring documented verification of metering equipment, fairly allocate differences in consumption volumes, allow for the recalculation of erroneous bills while taking into account the parties' responsibilities, and clarify the regulations concerning basements. The draft takes into account comments from heat suppliers and the National Energy Regulatory Agency regarding billing practices that do not comply with established requirements. Stakeholders submitted proposals and comments, which the Ministry of Energy will consider when finalizing the draft. New proposals and comments on the draft are being accepted until October 16. The draft will subsequently undergo anti-corruption and legal review, after which it will be submitted to the government for approval. // 09.10.2026 — InfoMarket
