The prime minister made this statement during meetings with representatives of several business associations, with whom he discussed the changes needed to create a more competitive, predictable, and attractive business environment for investment. According to the government's press service, in recent weeks Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has held meetings with the Foreign Investors Association (FIA Moldova), the European Business Association (EBA Moldova), and the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham Moldova). He noted that reviving the economy is a top priority. "For the country's development, we need a strong and successful business sector. Our goal is to make Moldova the most business-friendly country in Europe, with conditions for entrepreneurs and investors that are better than in other countries in the region. To achieve this, we need an efficient government that is less costly, has simpler and more business-friendly regulations, and is ready to make the necessary decisions," the prime minister said. Vasile Tofan emphasized that long-term economic development cannot be based on remittances and foreign aid, and that Moldova must strengthen its own productive capacity, attract capital, and generate revenue. In this regard, the government's priorities are to improve government efficiency, enhance regulation, and create more competitive conditions for investment. Discussions with business leaders focused on systemic issues affecting companies' decisions to invest and expand their operations in Moldova. Priorities discussed included reducing bureaucracy and simplifying the regulatory framework, ensuring fiscal and legislative predictability, developing human capital and access to financing, as well as enhancing competitiveness in the energy sector. Particular attention was paid to the protection of property and investments, as well as to accelerating digitalization and creating a favorable environment for innovative entrepreneurship. Another important topic was leveraging the opportunities provided by European integration and the Growth Plan to attract investment, expand local production, and increase value added in the economy. In this regard, the prime minister emphasized access to larger markets, new financing instruments, and improved conditions for development and exports. The Prime Minister assured that the government would continue its program of deregulation, debureaucratization, and digitization of public services for businesses, and will also maintain an active dialogue with business associations so that proposals from the private sector are transformed into concrete policy measures that enhance the economy's competitiveness and Moldova's investment attractiveness. "Investments go where there is trust. And trust is built on stable rules, effective institutions, and the state's ability to transform the problems reported by businesses into concrete solutions," noted Prime Minister Vasile Tofan. // 14.09.2026 — InfoMarket
