This and other issues were discussed at a meeting between Moldova's Minister of Internal Affairs, Daniella Misail-Nichitin, and Romania's Minister of Internal Affairs, Marian Neacșu. Expanding joint control, with a focus on the "Ungheni-Ungheni" border crossing point, should facilitate the movement of citizens and the transport of goods while maintaining effective border surveillance. In addition, according to the agreements reached, Romania will continue to provide assistance in equipping units of the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs, training personnel, and sharing experience and expertise. This support will be directed, among other things, toward implementing reforms under Negotiation Chapter 24, "Justice, Freedom, and Security," and preparing institutions to meet EU requirements. Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their intention to continue joint projects and deepen cooperation in the field of home affairs and security. // 28.10.2026 — InfoMarket.
