CALM is calling for a suspension of the regulatory amalgamation of localities until the law is passed

The Congress of Local Authorities from Moldova has demanded that the process of regulatory amalgamation of settlements be suspended until a comprehensive legal framework is adopted. The organization cites risks to local self-government, insufficient time for consultations, and controversial conditions under which access to funding is tied to consent to the merger.
