Until 2023, he worked as a neurologist, including as head of a department at the Institute of Emergency Medical Care, and was also engaged in research. In January 2023, he was appointed State Secretary of the Ministry of Health; in October 2024, he became an advisor on health care issues in the Prime Minister’s Office; and a year later, he became an advisor to President Maia Sandu on health care. In his 2025 declaration of income and personal interests, his primary source of income was listed as payments from his main job at the State Chancellery—465,600 lei. After being appointed as an advisor to the president, he also received 34,100 lei from the Office of the President. His income from teaching activities amounted to an additional 110,900 lei. In addition, Gasnash declared 10,600 lei in interest from bank deposits, and 5,000 lei in monthly child care benefits. The minister’s wife declared a child care allowance of 71,200 lei, an additional 5,400 euros from renting out property, and more than 7,000 Romanian lei in child benefits from Romania, which the Romanian authorities provide to their citizens.
