Moldova's accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is extremely important for the country's economy and will benefit companies - the NBM

This was stated by Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), during a meeting with Alberto Carlei, Head of the European Investment Bank's Representative Office in Moldova, with whom she discussed Moldova's macroeconomic prospects in the context of Moldova's accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and the implementation of the Economic Growth Plan, based on the recently approved financial assistance of 1.9 billion euros. Anca Dragu emphasized that an important goal of the NBM is to increase access to financing for businesses, noting that these aspects are necessary to improve the quality of life in the context of Moldova's accession to the European Union. “Joining SEPA marks a decisive stage for Moldova's economy. This system simplifies and optimizes cross-border payments in euros, while companies benefit from conditions harmonized with EU standards,” the head of the National Bank stressed. While speaking about financial education as a pillar of development, Anca Dragu emphasized that, through national campaigns or financial education camps, the NBM offers young people all the necessary tools to become financially responsible citizens and professionals. The EIB is one of the international financial institutions supporting Moldova through projects that contribute to the achievement of the European Union's objectives, both inside and outside the EU. //13.03.2025 - InfoMarket.
