
The average salary in Moldova amounted to 13170.3 lei in Q1 2024, up by 14.7% in nominal terms compared to the same period of the previous year.
As reported by the National Bureau of Statistics, taking into account inflation, the average salary increased by 10% compared to Q1 2023. As noted, the average monthly salary in the public sector amounted to 11,319 lei (+15.7% compared to the same period in 2023), and in the real sector of the economy – 13,818.5 lei (+14.3%). The highest salaries in Q1 2024 were received by workers in the ICT sector - on average 32,272.5 lei (+8.5% compared to the same period in 2023), the financial and insurance industry - 24,513.5 lei (+ 12.9%), enterprises for the production and supply of electricity, gas, water, air conditioning - 18,522.6 lei (+12.1%), in the field of public administration and defense, compulsory social insurance - 14,891.6 lei (+17 .6%), specialists in the field of professional, scientific and technical activities – 14,782.2 lei (+9.8%), in the health care and social protection system – 14,045.4 lei (+15.9%). The lowest salaries remain in the field of tourist accommodation and catering - 8,605.6 lei (+19.2%), in agriculture, forestry and fishing - 8,201.8 lei (+16.4%), in the field of art, recreation and entertainment – 9,726.4 lei (+15.9%) and in the field of administrative services and support activities – 9,950.2 lei (+73%). In other areas of activity, salaries exceed 10 thousand lei. Thus, in the field of real estate operations the average salary was 10,983.2 lei (+19.7%), in the education system - 10,932.5 lei (+14.1%), in the field of transport and warehouse services - 11,099.2 lei (+6.3%); in construction – 11,231.7 lei (+14.8%); in the field of trade, repair of cars and motorcycles – 11,965.5 lei (+15.4%). In the industrial sector, salaries averaged 11,955.1 lei (+17.4%), including in the processing industry - 11,139.3 lei (+17.9%); at enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste treatment and treatment and restoration work - 11,528.8 lei (+21%); in the mining industry – 10,987.4 lei (+23.5%). // 31.05.2024 - InfoMarket.
