According to the agency, in particular, the Ministry of Finance, as a body promoting state policy in the field of public procurement, organized a working meeting, which was attended by representatives of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Economy, the Public Procurement Agency, the Main Department of Education, youth and sports of Chisinau, as well as economic operators, who considered topical issues in the field of public procurement, due to the volatility of prices for food and building materials. The purpose of the meeting was to identify possible solutions to manage the current situation and to identify problems that require additional intervention. The event was chaired by State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Vladimir Araсhelov. In response to reports from contracting authorities and economic operators about problems that have arisen in the field of public procurement related to the impossibility of fulfilling public procurement contracts as a result of rising prices and inflation, as well as supply chain disruption due to the war in Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance sent a circular with recommendations to central authorities, local governments of I and II levels, financial departments and the Public Procurement Agency. In the context of the discussions, Vladimir Arachelov noted that the Ministry of Finance had developed and submitted for public discussion a draft amendment to the government decree approving the Regulations on the periodic review of the cost of continuous execution public procurement contracts concluded for a period of more than 1 year.
