GDP growth in Moldova by the end of 2021 will exceed 7% - Ministry of Economy.
This was stated by Minister of Economy Sergiu Gaibu in an interview with Radio Free Europe. He recalled that recently the World Bank changed the forecast for Moldova's GDP growth for this year, increasing it from 3.8% to 6.8%. “But we expect GDP growth to exceed 7%. I do not want to make sensational news out of this, because it is clear that this growth is due to the low base of 2020 (the decline in GDP was 7%), and, obviously, against this background, it is natural to have good growth. But it is already good that, at least, we are beginning to recover. We will not reach the previous level yet, but at least we will approach the situation before COVID, and next year we will fully recover, ”said Sergiu Gaibu. Earlier it was reported that the budget of Moldova for 2021 was drawn up taking into account the economic growth projected for this year by 4.7%. Subsequently, macroeconomic forecasts were revised, and the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure announced that real GDP growth in Moldova in 2021 will be 6%.// 08.10.2021 — InfoMarket
