The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) did not make any transactions on the interbank foreign exchange market in July, as it did a month earlier
According to the National Bank, the last spot transactions were registered in April, when the NBM sold $5 million, as well as in January, when the bank purchased $10 million. It should be noted that in July last year the National Bank purchased $46.5 million on the interbank foreign exchange market. As currency interventions, the National Bank of Moldova uses direct operations (SPOT transactions of purchase or sale of foreign currency for Moldovan lei), which affect the money supply, and regulatory operations (currency swaps), which are reverse instruments and do not affect the money supply in the long term. // 19.08.2024 - InfoMarket
