Interbank fees for bank card payments in Moldova will be gradually reduced in 2 years from 1.6% and 2.5% to 0.5-0.6%.
The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has reported this, noting that the bank decided to limit the inter-bank fees charged for transactions by bank cards. This measure will directly reduce costs, both for economic agents and final consumers. The National Bank specified that at the same time the NBM wants to stimulate competition in the payment cards market, ensuring transparency of the fees, applied by providers of payment services. The decision is published on the NBM website. It was agreed with the payment market subjects and representatives of the banking sector before its approval. "Thus, a solution has been found to ensure the continuity of services as well as a gradual reduction of tariffs. The document represents an important step in the process of harmonization of the Moldovan legislation with EU requirements, an obligation assumed by our country in order to join the European Union", the NBM emphasized. // 26.06.2023 - InfoMarket.
