The Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization made this statement during the second panel discussion, “Economic Diplomacy,” at a meeting of heads of diplomatic missions and consular offices organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The topic of discussion was the role of diplomatic missions in supporting Moldova's economic development. Eugen Osmochescu noted the need for embassies to actively participate in identifying opportunities for economic cooperation, promoting investment projects, and facilitating dialogue with the business community in host countries. In turn, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi emphasized the importance of interagency cooperation and the economic mission of embassies in the context of the government's priorities. “Effective economic diplomacy is based on coordinated actions, expertise, and strong partnerships. Diplomatic missions should become active platforms for promoting investment, exports, and Moldova's economic image,” said Mihai Popsoi. Natalia Bejan, Director of the Investment Agency, presented practical tools available to diplomatic missions to attract investment and increase exports, highlighting Moldova's portfolio of investment projects and their potential in foreign markets. The importance of promoting the country's holistic economic image and leveraging Moldova's competitive advantages was noted.
