Moldovan Prime Minister made this statement while speaking at the EU Enlargement Forum, organized for the first time in Brussels by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos. The event, entitled “Completing the Union, Securing Our Future,” brought together leaders of EU institutions, representatives of member states and candidate countries, civil society, entrepreneurs, and public policy experts. In his speech, Moldovan Prime Minister emphasized that the European Union is building a future based on a model founded on rules and democracy. "For the people of Moldova, who are constantly exposed to external interference, the future is a matter of choice. We do not want a future imposed on us by force or blackmail. Moldova consciously chooses democracy, peace, and membership in the big European family, day after day," said Alexandru Munteanu. Prime Minister emphasized that Moldova's partnership with the EU has strengthened our country's energy security, supported citizens in difficult times, strengthened border security, and accelerated reform processes. Integration into the EU roaming zone, accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), and expanded access for Moldovan products to the European market are just some of the concrete benefits gained. At the same time, as part of the Growth Plan, the government is working on projects that will directly benefit people and the business environment. Alexandru Munteanu also emphasized the importance of Moldova's voice in the collective efforts to build a more sustainable Europe, noting that our country is taking on the role of a responsible partner focused on strengthening peace and stability on the continent. "We not only benefit from European solidarity, but also contribute to European security. We have resisted hybrid threats, disinformation, and energy blackmail.
