Another 66 Moldovan companies received grants for 24.7 million lei, which will help attract almost 44 million lei of investments to the national economy - ODA

As noted by the Entrepreneurship Development Organization, these funds are provided within the framework of a number of grant programs administered by ODA jointly with the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, and will be used to purchase modern equipment, as well as to optimize production processes. Support is provided by the Government of Moldova, which allocates 7.77 million lei to 26 companies, and the European Union, which allocates 4.2 million lei to 20 companies within the framework of the EU for Small and Medium Enterprises project. In addition, 20 companies received grants for 12.74 million lei under the Competitiveness Enhancement Program for Local Producers and Integration into Value Chains, financed by the Government and the World Bank Group through ODA and the Competitiveness Enhancement Project. Currently, these companies employ more than 1,267 people, and thanks to the grants, at least 478 jobs will be created. This financial support helps strengthen businesses, create better-paid jobs and improve economic prospects for communities across the country. Speaking at the event, Doina Nistor, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, said the government is building an economic model based on added value, technology and innovation. A model in which companies grow through smart investments in high-performance equipment, digitalization and productivity-enhancing solutions. The grants offered today support this concept, she said. “They are a way to say to entrepreneurs: we are here, we believe in you, we want you to succeed. Because by supporting a company, you are actually creating jobs, keeping families at home and giving life to communities. And for us, this is the best investment,” said Doina Nistor. Adam Grodzicki, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Moldova, noted that the prospect of Moldova joining the EU and integrating into the single market could be a real game changer, bringing long-term benefits to the country’s economy and society. According to him, participation in the EU flagship programs, such as the Single Market Program, Digital Europe and Horizon Europe, will not only strengthen Moldova's integration into the European business and innovation ecosystem, but will also increase competitiveness, promote innovation and create new employment opportunities for Moldovans. In turn, Aureliu Casian, Executive Director of the World Bank Competitiveness Project Implementation Group (UIPAC), emphasized that the WB Group has supported and continues to support the government's efforts to develop the private sector and create a predictable and comfortable business environment. According to him, the SME Competitiveness Project continues long-term cooperation with the Moldovan authorities on access to finance and development of export competitiveness, which has been carried out over the past 5 years. "We support enterprises that produce products and demonstrate healthy competition, including in foreign markets. Thanks to investments supported by the World Bank Group under the Local Competitiveness and Value Chain Integration Program, Moldovan enterprises are becoming more efficient, productive and export-ready. Real economic development begins when our products become in demand and competitive outside the country," said Aureliu Casian. Speaking about the path of local entrepreneurs and the efforts to support them, ODA Deputy Director Nina Potinga emphasized the institution’s commitment to supporting the transformation of bold ideas into sustainable economic realities. According to her, every entrepreneur who makes an effort, innovates and invests in their business contributes to strengthening the economy. “Thanks to the grants we manage, the government and development partners support destinies. We support people who create jobs, give meaning to the lives of communities and transform ambitious ideas into real projects. We believe in entrepreneurs as the most sincere engine of development and will continue to be their reliable partner,” she said. Since the beginning of the year, 471 companies in Moldova have received grants from the Entrepreneurship Development Organization for a total of 194 million lei. This support has allowed to attract planned investments of over 383 million lei to the national economy. Of the total number of beneficiaries, 293 companies received funding from the state budget, 147 received assistance from the European Union under the EU for Small and Medium Enterprises project, and 24 companies received assistance under a program financed by the government and the World Bank Group. In addition, 7 companies received assistance under the EU4Moldova: Local Communities program, financed by the European Union, the governments of Germany, Austria and Poland and implemented in Moldova by GIZ, ADA and SFPL.// 30.07.2025 — InfoMarket
