Moldova has achieved a record growth in egg exports to the European Union over the past year - from 9 thousand pieces in 2024 to 10 million 777 thousand 060 pieces as of July 1, 2025
Government reported this, noting that Moldova fully provides for domestic consumption of eggs and has brought their export to the European Union to a record. In particular, after our country received the right to supply eggs to the EU market in 2023, the number of eggs exported by Moldova to the European market increased from 9,000 pieces in 2024 to 10 million 777 thousand 060 pieces as of July 1, 2025. At the same time, the volume of egg supplies to the markets of countries outside the EU also increased. While in 2022 Moldova exported 6 million 421 thousand 680 eggs there, then in the first 6 months of 2025, their number has almost doubled, reaching 12 million 229 thousand 560 pieces. On the other hand, egg production has also increased to meet domestic demand, which has led to a significant reduction in egg imports. The volume of egg imports has decreased more than 20 times over the past 4 years. While in 2022 Moldova imported 18 million 280 thousand 800 eggs, then this year only 868 thousand 160 pieces were imported. Moldova obtained the right to export consumer eggs (category A) to the EU market in 2023, and the first batch was delivered to the EU market in October 2024. // 29.07.2025 — InfoMarket
