Moldova has good investment potential in renewable energy, industry, electronics, and pharmaceuticals - Dorin Recean
Prime Minister made this statement while speaking at the Vienna Economic Forum, which is being held in Chisinau with the participation of businesspeople from 21 European countries. The head of the Moldovan government, under whose auspices the event was organized, noted that the business environment in Moldova is stable, safe, friendly, and competitive. Dorin Recean stressed that the country's goal is to join the European Union. “This path already opens up access not only to the single European market, but also to other world markets through the EU's trade agreements. Moldova is determined to move forward with the reform process,” the head of government said. At the same time, Prime Minister spoke about the transition to a digital economy and the development of the information technology sector, particularly through the Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), which will operate under an attractive tax and regulatory regime until 2035. At the same time, the head of the Cabinet said that the financial sector in our country is stable and welcomed investments in the insurance sector. Dorin Recean noted that Moldova is a reliable economic partner in Central and Eastern Europe. It is undergoing a transformation towards a digital economy in agriculture, industry, and other sectors of the economy. “We are proud of the development of the IT sector, which operates under an extremely attractive tax and regulatory regime. We already have the highest share of IT specialists per capita in the region. Our financial sector is stable and offers numerous opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs, and exporters,” said Prime Minister. He emphasized that Moldova has potential for investment in renewable energy, industry, electronics, and the pharmaceutical sector, and called on entrepreneurs to invest in our country. The Vienna Economic Forum is a platform that promotes economic cooperation in the Adriatic and Black Sea regions. Moldova has been a member of the organization since 2004. This is the fourth event organized in Chisinau to support the authorities in expanding the portfolio of foreign investments in our country. The motto of the current Vienna Economic Forum in Chisinau is “Moldova in Focus. Continuing to build economic bridges in difficult times.” This year, the discussions will focus on three key areas: Moldova's economic integration into the European and global space, infrastructure projects, and enhancing energy resilience. // 19.05.2025 — InfoMarket.
