The Ministry of Finance reported that for 6 months in 2024 net external financing amounted to minus $51.81 million, as the volume of new loans received in January-June 2024 amounted to $92.62 million and was less than payments on the principal amount of external debt for the mentioned period ($144.43 million). At the same time, in 6 months of 2024 there was registered a negative value of fluctuations in the exchange rate of the US dollar against other currencies, which amounted to $117.8 million, and as a result, in January-June 2024. Moldova's external public debt in US dollar terms decreased by $169.61 million (-4.59%) to $3 billion 526.6 million as of the end of June this year.
