The gas tariff for Moldovagaz household consumers has been reduced by 9.3% - to 13.13 lei per 1 cubic meter including VAT.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) adopted this decision at a meeting on Thursday while approving new regulated prices for natural gas supplied by Moldovagaz in the context of the obligation to provide public service to certain categories of end consumers and for supply in case of last resort. In particular, ANRE examined the supporting documents submitted by Moldovagaz and found that there were objective factors behind the requirement to revise the regulated prices for natural gas supplied for 2024, namely the reduction of the forecast of the average annual purchase price of natural gas from $518 to $482.5 per 1 thousand cubic meters. As it was mentioned, in particular, in April Energocom offered Moldovagaz gas at a lower price - 450 euros instead of 550 euros per 1 thousand cubic meters. At the same time, the indicative prices of natural gas purchase by Moldovagaz for May-December were updated following the results of the auction held on the BRM East Energy trading platform, through which Moldovagaz will purchase natural gas from Energocom in May, and the price forecasts of the TTF index until the end of the year were updated. Thus, the average natural gas supply price was calculated by ANRE at 10049 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters, which is 1087 lei (9.8%) lower than the average price in force and 46 lei (0.5% lower) than the price requested by Moldovagaz during the tariff revision. In particular, by ANRE's decision, the new tariff was set at 7869 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters at the exit points of high-pressure gas transportation networks, which is 1260 lei less than the current price, and at the exit points of medium-pressure natural gas distribution networks - 8871 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters, which is by 1205 lei less than the current price, and at the points of exit from the low pressure natural gas distribution networks, to which all household and part of non-household consumers are connected - 12154 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters, which is by 1244 lei less than the current price. Thus, domestic consumers will pay for 1 cubic meter of natural gas 1.24 lei (without VAT) less than the current price, and the tariff reduction will amount to 9.3%. Currently, the gas tariff for domestic consumers, including VAT, is 14.47 lei per 1 cubic meter, and after the reduction it will be 13.13 lei per cubic meter, including VAT. The new prices will come into force on May 3, the day of publication of ANRE's decision in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova). // 02.05.2024 - InfoMarket.
