Parliament to consider a draft law on cash settlements, an initiative to ensure the functionality of the electricity market and denounce agreements with the CIS.

These and other issues are on the agenda of the parliamentary plenary sittings to be held from November 24 to 30. According to the press service of the Parliament, the Standing Bureau has included 6 EU-related projects on the agenda of the sittings. Among them are legislative initiatives on the application of international restrictive measures, ensuring the functionality of the electricity market, amending the Law on State Aid and the Law on Consumer Protection, as well as the management of road infrastructure security. A series of government projects will be examined in the first reading. These are draft laws on cash settlements, state-guaranteed mediation, and adjustment of the legislation in the road transport sector. In the second reading, the MPs will discuss a series of legislative initiatives on justice, economy and environmental protection. At the same time, the Cabinet is due to ratify an agreement with the EU on Moldova's participation in the Single Market Programme, an economic cooperation agreement with Portugal, an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on the modernization of the railway infrastructure, a protocol to the agreement on the international irregular passenger transport by buses, as well as an agreement on Moldova's participation in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. Also, the parliament will denounce in the second reading 7 agreements signed on the CIS platform. They concern such areas as information activity, training of specialists for anti-terrorist units, provision of border guards with weapons and military equipment, evacuation of citizens in case of emergencies, nuclear research and accidents at electricity facilities.
