According to the National Bank of Moldova, at the same time, the largest bilateral creditor of Moldova in January-March 2023 was France with the share of 39.9% of the total debt, and the 2nd place was taken by Japan with 25.6% of the total debt. The top three leaders in this indicator are Poland with a share of 10.9% of the total bilateral debt. In particular, as of the end of the first quarter of 2023, Moldova's bilateral debt to France amounted to $81.6 million, while it increased by 2.3% compared to the end of 2022. At the same time, bilateral debt to Japan in January-March 2023 increased by 1% - from $51.76 million (as of the end of 2022) to $52.26 million (as of the end of the first quarter of 2023), and to Poland - increased by 2.2% - from $21.73 million to $22.22 million. During the same period, Moldova's bilateral debt to Austria increased by 1.1% - from $15.99 million to $16.16 million, and to Russia - by 0.7% - from $14.5 million to $14.6 million.
