
Moldova Government to hold discussions on the New Public Administration Reform Strategy for 2023-2030 in country’s regions on February 10-17.
According to the Cabinet's press service, the representatives of the Government, Parliament and State Chancellery will discuss the draft Public Administration Reform Strategy for 2023-2030 with all the interested parties. There will be organized 10 regional events, with the participation of mayors, chairmen of districts, representatives of central and local public administrations, civil servants and employees of decentralized services, local, district and municipal councilors, as well as representatives of international community, non-governmental organizations, business environment and media. Three regional meetings will be held on Friday, February 10: in Telenesti (for representatives of Telenesti, Orhei, Rezina and Soldanesti districts), in Causeni (for representatives of Causeni, Anenii Noi and Stefan-Voda districts) and in Ungheni (for representatives of Ungheni, Calarasi and Nisporeni districts). On Tuesday, February 14, 2 more events will take place: in Cahul (for representatives of Cantemir, Taraclia and Cahul districts), in Hincesti (for representatives of Cimislia, Basarabeasca, Leova and Hincesti districts). On 15 February, representatives of Chisinau municipality, Criuleni, Straseni, Dubasari and Ialoveni will meet in Chisinau at the Palace of the Republic for public consultations. On Friday, February 17, 3 more territorial meetings will be held: in Balti (for representatives of Balti, Falesti, Glodeni, Riscani, Singerei districts), in Edinet (for representatives of Ocnita, Donduseni, Briceni and Edinet districts), in Soroca (for representatives of Drochia, Floresti and Soroca districts). The 10th public discussion will take place in Comrat with participation of ATU Gagauzia representatives. Government representatives in the territories, heads of territorial offices of the State Chancellery will provide more information about the organization and location of meetings. Until February 17, the State Chancellery will systematize all the proposals to modify the new strategy in order to elaborate a final document, which will be presented to the government for approval. As InfoMarket News Agency earlier reported, the implementation of the Public Administration Reform Strategy 2023-2030 will require 160-250 million euros. The draft strategy represents the government's vision on the transformation of the central and local authorities in the context of the accession to the European Union and the new socio-economic realities. The strategy aims at the implementation of reforms in five components: management of public offices and civil servants; improvement of the institutional framework of the central public administration; strategic planning and development of public policies; de-bureaucratization and development of electronic services; local public administration. The Strategy aims at an efficient, transparent and responsible central and local public administration, capable of continuous improvement, offering accessible and quality services to citizens and businesses in Moldova, thus contributing to social welfare and strengthening social cohesion. The measures envisaged in the Strategy will be implemented in two phases: 2023-2026 and 2027-2030.
