
A tender has been announced for the design and construction of a new thermal power plant in Moldova.
The Moldova Energy Projects Implementation Unit (MEPIU) has announced a tender, within the framework of the second project "Second District Heating Efficiency Improvement Project (DHEIP2)", to design, deliver and install in Chisinau 2 new efficient cogeneration units based on gas internal combustion engines (GICE) within the existing Termoelectrica energy infrastructure. As noted, Moldova has received financing from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to cover the cost of DHEIP2 and intends to use part of the funds to pay the contract for installation of efficient cogeneration equipment based on gas engines, power transformers and switchgear. The Moldova Energy Projects Implementation Unit (MEPIU) invites applications for closed bids for the design, delivery, installation and commissioning of 2 new cogeneration plants based on gas internal combustion engines (GICE) in Chisinau with a total useful production capacity of at least 43 Gcal/h of thermal energy and the corresponding electric energy production capacity with the required coefficient of performance. The contract also includes the design, delivery and installation of the equipment necessary to supply the national electricity grid with the electricity produced by the new cogeneration plants. In addition, the contract must also include the design, supply, installation and commissioning of all necessary systems to connect the new thermal power plant to the natural gas supply, district heating, water supply, sewage systems; all necessary electrical (high, medium and low voltage) systems, control systems, safety systems; other systems, equipment and facilities provided for in the bidding documents. The contractor shall complete the construction of the facilities within 24 months. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from MEPIU and familiarize themselves with the bidding documents, which may be purchased after submitting a written application and paying a fee of 2500 lei, or 250 euros in case of courier delivery, or 50 euros in case of electronic distribution.
