The European Parliament approved an increase in funding for Moldova in the EU budget for 2023.

Member of the European Parliament, Chairman of the European Parliament delegation to the Parliamentary Committee for the European Union-Moldova Association, Siegfried Muresan, wrote this on his social network page. He said that, taking into account the proposal of the European People's Party Group in the European Parliament, the agreement between the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on the EU budget for 2023 includes an increase of 210 million euros in the allocations to support the Eastern Neighborhood countries, including Moldova and Ukraine, in addition to any other existing or announced packages. This money could be used to invest in the modernization of schools, hospitals, as well as to overcome the crisis caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and to carry out the reforms necessary for European integration. Siegfried Muresan stressed that Moldova is a candidate and will become a member of the European Union.
