Germany will provide Moldova with a grant of 40 million euros to ensure the population’s energy security.
According to the press service of the parliament, in particular, this will be contained in an agreement between the governments of the Republic of Moldova and Germany on financial cooperation ("Promotion of energy security of vulnerable groups in Moldova"), which the parties intend to sign. The beginning of corresponding negotiations and further signing of the document by the parties in the form of exchange of notes was approved on Wednesday by the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and European integration. It is planned that the grant of 40 million euros will be provided to Moldova through the German development bank KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau), and the money will be used to compensate the sharp rise in energy costs for low-income people. The grant will be transferred to the accounts of the Ministry of Finance of Moldova by December 15. //09.11.2022 - InfoMarket.
